the fading day

8.01.2012

Golden hour is quite possibly the yummiest hour of all. Though, in the midst of my crazy life, it's often overlooked. That is, until a few days ago, when I noticed how magical and golden the sun's rays were, a quarter after seven. I knew it wouldn't last. So I grabbed the only person around - my lovely mother - before the light disappeared to the opposite hemisphere.

It was twenty minutes of continuous hair flips, awkward crouches, and model-mocking posing. Oh, and lots of laughter. The sun nearly had me blinded by the end of the session - a good thing too, since it kept me from noticing most passerby, who probably thought we were crazy, psycho people. All in all, it was the best part of my day. Thanks for being a trooper mom - awkward poses and all. :)

A few notes:

- I leave bright and early tomorrow morning for my weekend camping adventure (with mom and brother), and I'm super excited. I have a few guest-posters lined up for y'all, so you have a little something to look forward to while I'm gone. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures, and video - you can expect a little montage when I return. :)

- Don't forget to enter the Kinfolk giveaway! Because I'll be gone tomorrow, I have extended the giveaway to Monday, August 6.

- I've finally finalized the new blog design (on paper) and I can't wait to show you. I expect to have it up by the end of August!

- 102 followers!? Say whaaa!? Y'all are the best. :)

'Till Monday!
